Symposium on the Implications of Medical Tourism for Canadian Health and Health Policy
In order to fully understand the policy issues that surround cross-border care, we are proposing an interdisciplinary symposium with key stakeholders to determine the state of knowledge in Canada with regard to cross-border care and to identify priorities for research and knowledge translation activities in this area. As well this project will identify formal collaboration for future research and to assess the state of evidence with regard to cross-border health care in Canada.
The Symposium will include participation from a number of disciplines and stakeholders such as economics, population health, political economy, law, and commerce (insurance). Stakeholders include health system policy decision-makers and regulators, and patients themselves.
